It All Comes Down to this...

Why would it not end up this way? DUH!

This entire season has been a roller coaster of emotion for each team (well maybe with the exception of (Not) Last Again, Jeff Saturday Matis, and The Arrrrgh Matis/The Hospital/That one CFL Team Name)... HOWEVER! The championship has now come down to a TUESDAY NIGHT GAME.  Yes, my friends and family, fantasy football also gets affected by the perils of winter.

Going into tonight's game All Eyes on Mic is trailing the 3 Knuckled Squirrel by 15.8 with Michael Vick and LeSean McCoy to go.  3 Knuckled Squirrel is hoping that the snow in Philly can just keep those two out of the end zone and rely on the leg of one David Akers.

^^Green "Akers" is the place to be!

Make sure to tune in to tonight's game!  As for the Consolation Ladder - who really cares?!?  Obviously Sammy doesn't starting Kyle Orton (DNP) and Maurice Jones-Drew (DNP) and got KILLED by Gridiron Grandma.  The other placeholders are as follows: 3rd - Redeem Team (Micky), 4th - For Da Love of Ray-J (LJ & Ray), 5th - Greenwood Rattlers (myself/the only owner with a team hat), 6th - the flyswatters (Luke), 7th - Gridiron Grandma (Plain Grandma), and 8th - The Pretty Boys (Sammy).

Love you all!  Good Luck to Chad because you get an extra $10 if you knock of the #1 seed in the playoffs!

Championship Week!

"Well here we are folks, Championship Week. All that preparing we did in August is about to pay off. All of the research on who you can get in which round has gotten us where we are today. It is down to two competitors to determine who will take home the Mary Matis Trophy in this years Greatest Family FFL. It seems fitting that the two finalist are the top two seeds in the tournament, and have the highest tournament points thus far.
Its gonna be a grind.
In one corner, we have the 3 Knuckled Squirrels led by Chris Johnson and Jay Cutler and coached by Chad Rumsey who is in his 4th year in th league. Chad is still reeling from that first round loss to his lovely bride last year when his was the #1 seed going ionto the tournament. This year he is determined to finish the year on a high note. When asked about that loss, he had this to say. "You know, that was a tough one to swollow. I felt like I had a team to contend for a title and we came up a little short. Also, losing to my wife stung a little but. Im not saying she doesnt know what shes doing because she clearly does, but I feel like I lose every argument with her so when we met in the playoffs I really wanted to kick th........." We lost video feed.
In the other corner, we have All eyes on Mic, led by the resurgance of Mike Vick, LeSean McCoy, Amad Bradshaw and coached by legendary Michael Matis. Michael is coming off a disppointing 2009 season where is barely made the playoffs before getting blasted out of it in the fisrt round. This years sqaud looks ready and determined. We had a chance to sit down with the leader of the Mic's and this is what Mike Vick had to say when asked about the championship game. "We're ready. You know, this team was built for the postseason really. I know we had a very good regular season but that is behind us now. We are playing great football, putting up a lotta points and the Squirrles should be concerned. I just wanna thank Coach Matis for taking a chance on me. After not getting drafted, I was sitting on the waiver wire wondering if I was ever going to be given a chance to compete in this league again, coach Matis took that chance and I am going to repay him with a title." Strong words from a strong man.
Regardless of who wins, I am looking forward to a great game, with a lot of points scored and at the end, someone will walk outta here champion of the league and someone else will just walk outta here. Good luck to all and to all a good night.

Happy Birthday Aunt Janie!

Happy Birthday to the greatest Aunt anyone could ask for. You have always been there for each and every one of us kids and we can never repay you for that. We are very blessed to have you in each one of our lives. Love you Jane Dog!

The ________ Four

Yes, I do not know what adjective to place here (although I think I have an idea what word Aunt Colleen would choose).

WE ARE DOWN TO THE LAST FOUR PEOPLE!!
--I need help with an adjective so leave a comment on what you think it should be!

Anyways, these "adjectiveless" four have shown strength in the first round of the playoffs.  All scoring at least 112 points EXCEPT the Redeem Team who got FREAKIN LUCKY that the Ravens D got gassed in the 2nd half.  Props to Matt Schaub and the Texans for that 2nd half performance but dangit why did it have to happen now.

I just realized that the ladies only had one team present in the playoffs, Gridiron Grandma (swiftly sliding into the last seed).  However, she was quickly put to bed by Mr. I NEVER respect my elders, Mike Matis.  I am excited to see how these last four play against each other, all are in the top 5 for scoring on the year and do not look like they will be slowing down.  Good luck to

All Eyes on Mic - Michael Matis
3 Knuckled Squirrel - Chad Rumsey
For Da Love of Ray-J - Ray and LJ Matis
Redeem Team - Micky "the worst" Matis (sorry I had to take some shots here, I'm bitter)

All Eyes on Mick plays his godson and nephew, For Da Love of Ray-J: Mic has shown that he doesn't respect his elders and he has shown earlier this season that it DOES NOT MATTER, he will still beat you even if he takes the vows of Christianity for you (in the same day).

3 Knuckled Squirrel takes on the Redeem Team who shows late power just like the Texans Offense that he relies on.  Chad has shown high scoring all year; however, as I have so boasted all year RUNNING BACK RUNNING BACK RUNNING BACK... My stable failed me yesterday, but Micky has the league leader and Chad has an underperforming star.. I am really looking forward to this one.

LOVE YOU ALL! The championship just so happens is falling on Christmas weekend so please, playful jabbing - don't let it turn it hurtful or Heather will take her anger out on you!

Peace - W

By the way, I was losing by 5 in another league and this play won it for me b/c I have the Ravens D/ST.

Correction

So......as it turns out, the NFL released their stats for this past weekends games as they do every week. However, as it does tend to happen every once in a while, yahoo! and the NFL had differences. That being said, Mike Williams (TB-WR) was credited with only having 59 yards when he actually had 68 yards.

Now here's why this matters:

Gridiron Grandma has Mike Williams on her team and if you all can remember, she lost to Dog by a very slim margin. With that loss, Heather had a better record and thus the final spot in the playoffs. HOWEVER, with the adjusted scores Grandma ended up winning that game and Heather and Grandma ended the season with identical records. The first tiebreaker is total points scored for the year and Grandma had more points thus allowing her into the playoffs in the 8th and final spot.

This is a sctiky situation, one that I have never seen before. However, I can say confidently that they got it correct. It does stink for Heather and I apologize for that but I dont have any control over this. I just saw it this morning myself.

The time is now!

The playoffs are here!  (and that theme song always gets me ready for sundays!!)

(1) All Eyes on Mic
(8) Header

(4) flyswatters
(5) For da Love of Ray-J

(3) Greenwood Rattlers
(6) Redeem Team

(2) 3 Knuckled Squirrel
(7) The Pretty boys

First of all, for those in the playoffs, good work but the real season starts now!  And, for those of you who aren't in it, feel free to start an office pool, bring the bracket to school with you, or fill it out and follow along! Whatever you need to do to ease the sting of not making the playoffs is up to you.

The season ending week was a microcosm of the entire season.. D-R-A-M-A!  Not last again edging out Gridiron Grandma by 0.2 points?!? Ending her season by knocking her out of the playoffs?!? And letting Header, who won 6 of her last 7 to sneak in and give her a chance at another title.  The big seeds won easily in the last game of the year EXCEPT for the flyswatters who may have shown some weakness that has been seen in previous years!

Not much to say now because we all have to let our teams do the talking.. Good luck to all and see everyone on December 23rd (aka Zannadoo "Ribs & Bones" will be playing at McQ's; I have to work)

Love you all!
